For all who keep saying 'I wish I lived in L.A., I would take Fiona', please be aware that most cities have rescue groups. Find them in the yellow pages or Google. Some of them have adoption days at local pet stores like PetSmart, etc. Ours does & we live in a relatively sm. university town. There are 2 feral cat groups here as well, who TNR and rescue any kittens who? might be adoptable. I love this video which raises awareness. Now, go find a local dog or cat to give a forever home to. :^)

All I was saying is that if you're the kind of person who helps animals, you'll probably put them before things like health insurance and income. If you value those things above? animals, that's ok too. It is as wrong to judge someone for not reacting emotionally the same as you eg. expecting them to rescue an animal as it is to expect emotional people not to judge those who have chosen the material over the living. Getting angry about them getting angry is just more anger. None of it necessary.

Don't condemn them because they're not meeting some standard you, set based on your circumstances or your unrealistic understanding of available resources. What an adoreable dog, look at those ears. That method of grab and run would absolutely necessary in this situation as this was obviously a? really smart dog. I just wonder if putting a dark quilt over the trap would help and they would think it was a hole. That dog was brilliant.

Eldad, I know I've said this before, but...you just have a magic touch. Yeah, it took a little longer to earn Ralphy's trust than it has taken with some others -- Ralphy was all "you ain't takin' me in, copper!" on the first day -- and it was heartbreaking to watch him once he realized he couldn't get away. However, using the? towel to get him used to being touched -- even though he fought back at first -- was sheer genius (not to mention a very good way of preventing him from biting you)..

My mother fed a stray cat for about three years. It lived under my friends patio, and she fed it until they moved. My mom then took over feeding it. She made the 10 mile trip to feed the cat twice a day. The cat had at least one litter of kittens, but they were eventually able to catch her and spay her, and then re-release her. She continued to feed the cat until it passed away. If she couldn't make? it for some reason, I would go. I have to admire my mom for that.

I can't believe you have a most-liked comment? Who says the person who hit her didn't call anyone? Dogs have adrenaline just like humans, but their response is more pronounced (i.e. able? to SPRINT away from a car-hit - since it obviously hit, and affected, her posterior). Try chasing a normal dog...then try chasing one with adrenaline flowing, regardless of injuries (that's why most dogs that are hit never get help). This dog has seen enough anger...it only takes away the love she deserves.

Due to the dog's position under a car, in a crowded parking lot, and considering 2+ hours of attempts to lure the dog out were unsuccessful they used a method that would be the most effective and? least aggressive to get the dog out. Clearly it worked, as the dog is relaxing and happy within a moment. It's extremely hard to successfully capture a terrified animal from under one car among hundreds (and the risk of constant foot/motor traffic) without traumatizing it.

The rescuer was very gentle and did the? right thing seizing the puppy when he got a chance (after 2 hours). Contrary to what you might believe, dogs are not made out of butter, legs of puppies won't simply come off because of being gently pulled. You should show some appreciation for the people dedicating their time, effort and money to rescue stray dogs and stop bitching about nonsense.

To add to my previous comment, she is a black and white pit bull, possibly terrier mix, and about five months old. She's just the sweetest dog. Very calm temperament but loves to play as she kept initiating my dogs to chase her. Again, if you're looking to adopt, please visit the Citizens for Animal Protection shelter at 17555 Katy Freeway.? The shelter is facing an overcrowding crisis and I do not know how long they can keep her.

I saw some asshole this past Saturday abandon a pit bull puppy at Bear Creek Park in Houston, TX. He just drove up to the side of the road, parked, pulled the dog out and just drive off. I was walking my two dogs at the time and she just came up to us with it's tail wagging. She followed us throughout the park and as we were leaving, she looked at me as if to ask "Where are we going?" Watching these videos makes me tear up, because I have a rescued dog myself. A wonderful friend of mine (who was only 16 at the time) found him on a roadside as a puppy, pretty much at death's door. He's a lurcher and so few people want them, so he'd been beaten and neglected? and just abandoned. He couldn't keep him long but my friend raised and trained him before giving him to us. He's now a beautiful big strong friendly dog and we all adore him. People like you and my friend are so special.

My family only adopts the older guys. Puppies, kittens, baby rabbit's... They never have? trouble finding homes. It's the older ones who are left to a life with no love. The only time we got kittens was when we rescued them from the wild.

We adopted an old golden with cancer and and heartworm from our local SPCA. The cancer was benign at the time and they treated his heartworm. He was in such bad shape when we took him home and gave him love. He lasted 11 months and in that time his hair grew back and? he learned how to be a dog again and not worry about abuse. We would never take those 11 months back because it was such an incredible time with Jack! We will adopt a senior again but the emotions are very high with older dogs.

I adopted my dog, Rocky from Battersea Dog's Home in London when he was one years old. He's now 11 and the next? dog I take in -I only ever rescue and foster- will be a senior. Older dogs are amazing and appreciate you more than anything! Puppies are gorgeous but they'll always have no problem finding a home... Don't overlook the older guys! They'll make you feel like the most amazing person in the world!!! And what better feeling is there, than giving a dog a happy life for his twilight years?

Adorable! I am so glad you mentioned senior dogs! My plan when I am able to adopt more dogs (I currently have one 3 year old) is to adopt senior dogs.? I may foster younger ones but I want to give dogs the opportunity to live their final years in happiness and dignity. :) Bless you Eldad and the work you do.

Nili was dumped in the desert, and just sat there, waiting for her owner. My dear friends, Liraz and Alan saw her as they were driving home from Nevada to California and tried to help her. They spent 6 hours the first day, 6 hours the second day, and then they called me for help.

Nishal, you haven't been? paying attention.. Eldad is always rescuing. No matter where he is. He rescued in Florida just a couple of days ago. He was on Anderson Cooper with Fiona on May 7th and spent time in New York city with other rescuers. Just because he hasn't posted a video because of traveling doesn't mean he isn't rescuing.
