ha ha ha nah but i can imagen that the? business end of the dog with grab a person and hold him in place not like a rottie that will simply grap your arm and try to tare it off at the joint...btw don't just think you can open a mastiff's mouth when it have your arm that mouth close with over 200Kg per Cm2

Friends of mine has 5 of these gentle giants and a line of show winners. They have been raising them for 20+ years. The dogs have their own room in the house as well as entrance. The slobber is just part of their character and you must adopt? the philosophy of "spit happens". The female is about 180# and the 4 males run 185#-255#. They are truly lap dogs and would much rather play than work, but they are awesome guard dogs when the time comes.

@MzWitchyWonder I too used to own a? boxer who's lifespan was short because of Cancer, by far best dog I have ever owned. He was totally comfortable with my 1 year old. I know each dog is different, and since you have owned a mastiff, how are they with children? Especially small children?

maitenance, trainability, these owners dont know how to train! my english? mastiff was trained easier than any other dog i have ever had besides my german shepherd, it was potty trained and could do tricks at about 2 months of age. i only had him for about 2 weeks anyway. I have a black coated one that is slender than most, but taller, he is only 165 pounds. the only problems that mastiffs have are their drool, and hip problems, but other than that it is in the top five family dogs

Freaking lazy dog. I have a four month old staying for the night and it just drops to sleep anywhere, even in the? middle of the street when crossing her. I took her to the park to the dog run and other dogs of the same age used to run circles around her. Also, had her home and she used to pee everywhere.

let's say 50lbs and I didn't think it was a good idea and this dog...most likely a border collie mixed of some sort, they were of the same size, but the do was a lot hairier and the lady had said how "her dog has to socialize"...I didn't think it was a good idea so I held back the rat terrier and chi, and Molly and that dog smelled eachother and Molly took a bite at her neck which started a little fight that my friend had to pull away from...she is part hound something, she grunts? and sniffs e/e

i own a mastiff, because of there big floppy mouths they get all the stuff they put in there stuck in there chops. if found feathers, dirt, bits of sticks in? my dogs mouth. and its not the best smelling thing in the world. you can go and french kiss your dog if you want but if my dog licks my food or drink and i can see his slobber all over it, im throwing it away.
