loved your videos. not annoyingly filmed like some on here, not specific to dogs only. loved your apt. window! take some doggy videos? when it is snowing outside. i live in s.e. tx where we never see it at all and i have always thought it would be so cool to live in a high rise and watch it snow from that high up, or even rain for that matter. anyhow, i just adopted a terrier mix. she is a terrier personality all the way. love watching other terriers to see how they relate to her.

i have a jack russell terrier :P hes getting quite old now but still thinks hes a puppy...hes pretty much like dexter just a hell of a lot more crazy...he did the same thing with his cone though, it was off pretty much as soon as we got him home. his favourite toy used to be a rubber chicken aswell but he kinda ate it and he eats anything? that isnt a solid toy now so we cant give him those type of toys :( dexter is so cute though! and seems rather well behaved :P

love him, my partner and I have a Jack? Russell Terrier mixed with Husky. He pretty much looks like a slightly taller version of a JRT, but with all the personality and energy of one with big husky ears and a big whip for a tail

I've owned many breeds and the "Pit? Bull" by FAR has been the most loving, loyal and intelligent. Dogs ALWAYS show warning signs before an attack. Most people just lack the common knowledge to see them. People need to educate theirselves on dog behavior and body language FIRST before EVER owning a dog of ANY breed.

What a load of CRAP I have seen it to many times, when the attack they do not stop, when they bite they do not let go. Took 3 men one being the owner to get a english staffy to let go of a 6 month old pup, the pup then spent a week at the vets There were NO warning signs? the staffy just went the pup This staffy was brought up socialized in a family with kids and also had personal professional dog training.

I have had pit bulls for 15 years and my grandchildren and nieces have enjoyed my dogs. I have two three year old bro/sis pibbles who have had to be taught not to lick the babies. They love the kids. I don't chain or beat my dogs, they are part of my family and they sleep? indoors and enjoy the outside. I walk them every day. My neighbors have children and their kids love my dogs. And Dr. Dunbar is absolutely correct in all that he says. Thank you sir for standing up for this breed we love.

REAL Dobermanns from German bloddlines are VERY capable.. It´s when they breed on? small, weak dogs they get the "wrong kind" of Dobermann.. Make sure you alwasy buy from a REAL and TRUSTED Breeder! In my country (Sweden) almost ALL Dobermanns are of the "real" kind. My present dobie is 47kg at 15months.

@Creagle8 You can hold the food reward in your hand differently for dogs with a hard mouth. Hard to explain... but you can "cup" your hand, and place the food in between your thumb (knuckle) and bottom (not tip) of your index finger. Dog cannot chomp fingers that? way, since food is inside your palm area (if that makes sense). When you want to deliver treat, just "flatten" your hand, allowing food to push into front of dog's mouth. Takes practice but is 2nd nature quickly. Hope this helps.

I never thought this would work but I thought I'd give it a try. I've had my dog for 4 months and I work with him every day using this method and it's incredible how well it works. Even though my 2 year old dog that's new to me was never trained, people are amazed at how well trained he is. Kikopup is right, kindness and the? clicker opens a clear communication between dog and owner and they learn very quickly. Thank you

@therandomdude1999 : Definitely, yes. Knowing her breed, I think that you may have to socialize her for a lot longer and more often to make it really stick. However, the answer is yes. I wish I had had a chance to socialize my dog when she was young, but I didn't get her until? she was about 8 months old and a lot of damage had been done already by her being tied up for the first 7-8 months of her life with zero socialization.

@SuperBlaze46 its an exaggeration obviously.. during? season there will be days where one doesn't finish shots, or just wrestles bad that day, even get beat the whole practice and it makes them feel like a bad wrestler. it happens to everyone who wrestles long enough some take it differently i guess. i'm pretty sure the U of M coach isn't an idiot. and he was referring to freshman who usually have a hard time adapting to college level wrestling.

@Berserkism - I don't know about you, but I'm neither a dog nor a wolf. Dogs are not wolves. And dogs know that we are not dogs. Has been scientifically established. so any dog-like or wolf-like correction on a dog will work, but not because they understand that as coming from some kind of 2-legged wolf or dog. It will work because of the laws? of Learning Theory according to Watson, Thorndike, Skinner and Co. Tthat means positive punishment works based upon avoidance. Google is your friend.

YES the idea is that a command is give and the dog obeys but yourself have argued against this. "Trained Disobedience" was your mantra. No Training is ever finished, it is always ongoing, the fact you haven't yet grasped this? most basic of concepts shows your iniquities as a "Trainer". Repetition to ensure consistent behavior.

It rubs? off in Training, which is why you don't train in highly emotional states. It can leave the dog a nervous wreck because the dog is under so many conflicting signals from you. Best get your issues with your Fear, Pain, Violence mantra dealt with. Put the Past where it belongs. Stop applying your mental state to dogs.
